The wind comes off the sea at Chamorga. You can taste the salt. We drop down old trails through the Anaga massif, all the way to the tiny hamlet of Roque Bermejo. That is 18 km and 1,100 metres of climb, on paths people have walked for hundreds of years. Then we sit down to a Canarian lunch and talk about the people who made these trails.

I am Marcel. I run trail for the Adidas Terrex team, and I write about training and life for iRunFar. On this trip I want to show you Tenerife the way I know it. We run laurisilva forests near Las Mercedes. We climb high through Teide National Park, on volcanic ground, and stay for the sunset. That night we look up at the stars with a Starlight guide.

This is hard. Some days you will run 20 km with 1,200 metres of climb, in the Teno massif, above the north cliffs. Your legs will feel it. Bring that honesty with you, because the effort is the whole point. You will join a team, not a queue, and we look after each other on every step.

You can stay for the core week, or add two more days. There are pine forests at La Esperanza, cheese from a small dairy, and a quiet route from Baracan to Masca for a small group.

At the end, we sit down to one last meal, tired, sunburnt, full. The trails stay with you long after the flight home.

Apply to join

We read every application. Small group — and I want to get the group right. If this sounds like you, apply below.

Takes about sixty seconds. We'll WhatsApp you straight away.

Day-by-Day

Day 1

You land in Tenerife on day one. I will meet you at the airport, then we transfer to the hotel and check in. That night, we share a welcome dinner. You will join a team, learn the plan for the week, and hear the safety briefing. Rest well. The trails start tomorrow, and the island is waiting.

Day 2

Day two, we drop from Chamorga down to Roque Bermejo. We follow old paths through the Anaga massif. It is 18 km with 1,100 m of climb, so your legs will feel it. We stop for a Canarian lunch and learn the story of these tiny hamlets. Salt air, ancient tracks, quiet stone.

Day 3

Day three is different. We swap the coast for the woods. You'll run a loop through the laurisilva forests of Las Mercedes, 14 km with 600 m of climb. Green all around, quiet trails, natural viewpoints. Then we visit San Cristóbal de La Laguna, a UNESCO site. Old stone streets, deep forest, one long breath.

Day 4

Day 4 takes us into Teide National Park. We run 18 km with 700 m of climbing. You'll train at altitude on volcanic trails, past Minas de San Jose and Roques de Garcia. The land here feels like another world. We'll read the volcano's story together. Then we sit still and watch the sun drop over Teide.

Day 5

Day 5 takes us into Teno Rural Park. We run 20 km with 1,200 m of climbing. It is the hardest day. We cross old rural paths and tiny hamlets. We reach viewpoints high above the cliffs of northwest Tenerife. That night, we share a farewell dinner of Canarian food, local wine, and produce. Cliffs, salt air, and full plates.

Day 6

Day 6 is where we split. If you're on the core group, it's breakfast, then a transfer to the airport. That's the end. If you stay for the extended experience, you'll run 15 km through the pine forests of La Esperanza, climbing 650 m. We'll stop at a small dairy to taste Canarian cheese. Trees, quiet, and that fresh pine smell.

Day 7

Day 7 is our last run. We cover 19 km with 1,100 m of climb. This route is built just for our small group. We shape it to the weather and to you. Later, we share a private farewell dinner. I will talk about Guanche culture and the old trails. Then quiet hills, and one last sunset.

Day 8

Day 8 is our goodbye. You'll wake, eat a good breakfast, and pack your bags. Then we head to the airport for your transfer home. No trails today. Just tired legs, full memories, and the salt of Tenerife still on your skin. The tour ends here, quiet and calm.
